In approximately 5 to 6 months , these eggs hatch into a form called Fry, which is about 3 to 8 cm in length. The Fry then moves to lower river which is fast flowing and within approximately 4 years, develops into another stage called Smolt, which measures about 12 to 15cm in length.
Lastly, the Smolt moves into the open sea and there it will mature into an adult salmon of about 70 to 76cm in approximately 5years before returning to the upper river where the cycle is repeated again.
